I adored Red so much. Spiky, cynical and with a soft heart underneath it all. She's my favourite kind of flawed protagonist - utterly compelling . . . This book (and series) has such a tasty premise and it delivers beautifully with a twisty plot, stylish writing and a well-drawn cast of believable characters. Charlotte's assured and slick debut is an exciting start to this scorching new series.
It's a wonderfully twisty tale and I raced through the final chapters. Charlotte writes such compelling, fluid prose it is easy to be swept up in the story. The subject itself is fascinating and scary in equal measure. There is something mesmerising about fire, and Charlotte captures that fascination perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
